Office Hysteroscopy is a procedure performed under local anesthesia. It allows your doctor to look inside the uterus with a camera. The hysteroscope instrument used is slim (about 3 to 5 millimeters in diameter). It's carefully passed through cervix and into your uterus. The hysteroscope has a video camera inside which sends pictures to a monitor. This allows your doctor to check for any abnormalities such as polyps or fibroids. At the same time, the doctor can perform certain procedures, like taking a biopsy or removing a polyp.
